Tyler Waldo, Artist

My name is Tyler Waldo and I'm an aspiring / semi-professional artist based out of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. I've always enjoyed drawing and painting, but it wasn't until 2014 that I recognized it is something I'm driven to do and worth seriously following through on. I think my work has gotten a lot less crumby since then.
I have no formal training in fine art and I really just like to experiment and make things work my own way (I'm not cool enough to be anti-establishment, but formal training and I have yet to cross paths), but YouTube can teach a dude a bunch too.
I work primarily in oil paints and most recently have been doing a lot of wildlife art, which draws a lot from my native Alberta and time spent out fly fishing, hiking, and (more recently) birding. In the past, I have done a lot of landscapes in oils and even a few more surrealist pieces, which I suspect will be resurfacing soon. In the future, I hope to find the time to work more with watercolours, cartooning, and print making, which if you've been following me for a while you'll have seen show up.
